Founded in 1981, Snetor is a French group specializing in the distribution of plastic raw materials and chemical products for industrial sectors worldwide.
Operating across more than 100 countries with offices across the globe, Snetor's core product portfolio spans commodity plastics, engineering plastics, and an expanding range of recycled and bio-based products.
The group is structured into three main entities—Snetor Overseas, Snetor France, and Ozyance. Because Snetor primarily buys and sells in US dollars, managing foreign exchange risk is a critical, daily core function of their business model.
The FX Challenge
Before partnering with Kantox in 2021, FX hedging at Snetor was a demanding manual process managed entirely by a full-time employee. The team had to execute hedges over the phone with multiple bank partners several times a day and manually record each transaction into their accounting software. This setup created severe operational strain, consumed excessive time, and limited scalability.
"What we were looking for was true end-to-end automation, not just another tool to feed manually. What made the difference with Kantox was the direct connection to our SAP ERP, and the ability to automatically put banks in competition for every execution." — Eve Uzan, Head of Treasury
Some of the operational pain points included:
- Excessive Workload & Manual Processes - FX hedging required a full-time resource to constantly monitor exchange rates, call banks individually to place orders, and manually enter booking data into SAP.
- Human Error Risk & Limited Reliability: Manual order execution and multi-entry bookkeeping were repetitive, labor-intensive, and inherently prone to input errors.
- Scalability Bottlenecks: Absorbing rapid business growth was impossible under the previous framework without continuously adding overhead and administrative complexity.
The Kantox Solution
To mitigate the burden of manual intervention, Snetor sought a genuine end-to-end solution rather than another manual software tool. Kantox stood out due to its seamless, direct integration with Snetor’s SAP ERP system and its unique ability to automatically put banks in competition on every execution. Backed by BNP Paribas’ involvement in the setup, Snetor implemented Kantox in 2021.
Today, data flows directly from SAP to Kantox, where it is aggregated, monitored, and executed automatically. The platform processes around 500 orders monthly without requiring treasury team intervention, allowing the team to focus only on exceptional cases.
Benefits
The implementation of Kantox has improved Snetor's approach to FX risk management:
- Scalable Business Growth: Expanded FX trading volume nearly 3x across three entities and three currency pairswithout changing team size or organization structure.
- €20M Volatility Risk Mitigated: Successfully protected profit margins in 2025 by hedging nearly €20 million in exchange rate volatility risk.
- €200,000+ Extra Financial Gains: Automated dynamic competitive bidding across Snetor's six banking partners, generating over €200,000 in additional gains in a single year.
- Massive Operational Efficiency: Fully automated the processing of 500 entries per month, eliminating repetitive phone trading and manual ERP entries.
- Peace of Mind & Reliability: Achieved instant, automated hedging for every sales and purchase order entering the system, providing total operational control and accuracy.
Looking Ahead
Snetor continues to partner closely with Kantox through regular review sessions to refine management rules, optimize currency strategies, and anticipate new treasury requirements together as the business evolves.
