Brexit, the global economic downturn, plummeting oil prices. It has never been plain sailing on the currency market, but the volatility of the first few months of the year has outstripped the expectations of even the biggest pessimists.
Many companies have witnessed how exchange rates can rapidly rock their international lines of business and threaten to wreck their chances of meeting their targets. Giants such as Google Alphabet or H&M have seen their profits take a major hit because of exchange-rate volatility. Suffice to say, their investors have not been amused.
